In order to do that, it needs to guide us. The brain’s number one job is to keep us safe. The brain wants to help us predict the future ![]() From there, we can begin to work with it. If we look to the brain, we can begin to understand our inherent discomfort with uncertainty. Do you ever wonder if this is really what you should be doing with your life, but then try to shake it off? (It's a common theme in coaching.) Uncertainty about the future is inherently uncomfortable.Īnd if the topic is your life, it can feel very uncomfortable. We can easily feel pressure to make quick decisions and to act as if we know know what we may not know. We are rewarded for having answers, for being sure and decisive. ![]()
